Hi, I’m Lea, 23 years old and recently graduated with a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Humboldt University in Berlin. I grew up in China and love traveling and cooking, especially Chinese, to stay connected with the culture. I am not necessarily a hobby person, but I love to read. The book “Gegen Frauenhass” by the author and lawyer Christina Klemm is well worth reading.

This book had a lasting impact on me because it deals with gender-specific violence and, above all, the extent of intimate partner violence in Germany. Christina Klemm draws the reader’s attention to power structures and how these are maintained by the patriarchy. The book taught me to recognize and combat misogynistic behaviour and structures.

What motivated you to do an internship with us?

On the one hand, I have been interested in the sustainability sector for a long time, as it plays a central role in today’s world and I don’t just want to follow sustainable developments, I want to play an active role in shaping them. On the other hand, I find project management and consulting very interesting, as these areas have a lot to do with communication and teamwork. I think it’s particularly insightful when you work on a project over the long term and can see how it brings about sustainable change in a company or organization.

What have you learned in your time with us so far?

I have learned that the carbon footprint consists of three scopes and which factors are taken into account in each scope. The project with the University of Rostock has also given me an insight into effective measures for reducing emissions. I have also worked with software programs such as the ESG Cockpit. In the remaining time, I hope to gain even deeper insights into The Future Living’s sustainability strategy and, above all, to see what hurdles certain measures can encounter and how to deal with them. I’m also looking forward to the transformation workshop in Rostock and exchanging ideas with each other.
